Did you make a New Year’s resolution this year?
Getting fit, taking a trip, reducing waste, eating healthy, and managing stress are among the most popular resolutions year after year according to USA.gov. Â So are volunteering to help others and learning new skills. You may also have strengthening relationships, making new friends, and having more fun on your list.
You are 10 times as likely to attain your goals if you write down your resolutions, according to research cited in a recent Forbes.com article by Maggie Warrell.  If you haven’t already, write them down now. Also write down why your resolutions are important to you. If your resolutions truly matter to you and you can express why, then you will have more motivation to stick to your plan.
When setting your goals be specific. It’s not enough to say you are going to get fit.  You need to plan how you are going to get fit.  What are the small accomplishments on the way to achieving your goal?  Be sure to include rewards in your plan for when you reach significant milestones.  That way you have something tangible to look forward to along the way
Most of all, make sticking to your resolutions fun!!!!!
Here’s some ideas for achieving some of the most popular resolutions:
Get More Fit
Here’s some ideas to make exercise enjoyable:
- Golf at Sevillano Links.
- Dance Saturday night in Carlinos. Â This month we feature the Blue Merles, All Fired Up, Tom Drinnon and Jack Slack Bands. Check out the Entertainment Calendar on our website to see what live bands are playing every Saturday.
- Take a stroll around the Casino grounds.
- Schedule these activities in your calendar and make them part of your plan.
Eat More Healthy
The Rolling Hills Buffet features fresh fruits and vegetables every day, as well as fish and other healthy foods. Â The fish prepared by Rolling Hills Chefs is as delicious as it is healthy. According to recent research, people who eat baked or broiled fish at least once a week may improve their brain health and cut the risk of developing memory problems or Alzheimer’s disease.
Strengthen Relationships
The best way to strengthen a relationship with someone you love is to spend more time with him or her. Timbers Steakhouse offers the perfect setting for dining and conversation. If you want a little entertainment while you dine, come on Thursday nights and enjoy music for fine dining by Laurie Dana.
Have More Fun and Laugh More Often
It’s easy to keep this resolution at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort. Kick off the laughs the first Friday of every month at the Comedy Club. Play your favorite games in the Casino. Bring the kids to the Arcade. Golf at Sevillano Links. Party in Carlino’s Night Club on Saturday night. Cheer when your favorite team scores a touch down during our Monday Night Tailgate parties.
Make New Friends
You can’t make new friends if you are staying home wishing you had more friends. If you golf, join our Men’s or Ladies’ Club.  If you are a business person, the Corning Rotary Club meets at the Casino every Wednesday at noon.  Join the Saturday night party in Carlinos. If you come to the Casino to gamble, say hi to the person sitting next to you at the table game or slot machine.
Learn Something New
Learn some cooking tips from our chefs at the upcoming Wine, Food and Art Festival or check out our cooking demos on YouTube. Book some golf lessons at Sevillano Links or get some Black Jack tips from our dealers. Â Take some swing dance lessons and practice on our dance floor. Â Be sure to schedule both practice time and lessons in your calendar.
Give Back to the Community
This is a favorite resolution for everyone at Rolling Hills Casino. We encourage volunteerism and charitable giving. Â We support activities that promote health, safety and education in our local communities. The Expect More Tehama initiative is especially important to us.
